Cancer in children
Pediatric cancer remains the first cause of mortality by disease in children older than 1 year old. Treatments are heavy and often very long.

I am Claire, mum of Gaëlle and Marie.
Marie is 12 1/2 years old, Gaëlle will be 15 in a few days but since november 2002, she is not physically on our earth any more ,following an osteosarcoma (tumor of her femur) diagnosed in the early february 2002: 9 months of disease, which went on so fast, 9 months as for a birth, the birth of an angel ???
Gaëlle has gone through all this ordeal (chemotherapy, radiotherapy, lung surgery, amputation of her leg) with such a natural way and with such a simple joy for Life. Cancer can take over our children's body but do not take over their beauty and their intelligence !!!!!!!!
Gaëlle is not a part of our past, she is still with us today, in another way in fact and my Marie ( such a sweetie "louloute" ...which is one of our favorite word to call our children and with no translation available at that time) my other precious treasure in life.
I've "met" Nanou and Marianne on the internet bulletin board of la Donation Lou Salomé: our daughters, the disease, the need to communicate, the desire not to let things get us down, pushed by our love to our sweethearts, enjoying having a good laugh: all of these reasons, plus the fact that we all live around Paris, how could we not meet each other!!!!!!! Understand each other and help each other!!!!

My name is Anne, Nanou for all my close friends. I am a Childless mum of her pretty princess, Manon, "flown away from me" on July 8th, 2002 , after 4 years of a long and hard fight against the neuroblastome. Manon would have had 19years old this year, on August 9th, day of the Saint Amour (holly love) in the fench calendar ... I am also the enchanted mum of a sweet love named Léo, a small lion born on february 25th, 1999! In fact, he is much more "pisces" than "leo" ! (in french we use the same word to say fishes or pisces and to say lion or leo ) So, Léo seems to be more "fish" than "Lion", if you understand what I mean !!!!!!!
I wish you a wonderful journey in the Bagouz à Manon's land !
